The Tailor's Shop
Who said learning about history had to happen through books? The Tailor's Shop is a coding project that reimagined the ways we interact with history by allowing users to make iconic moments in fashion history through a video game.

Creating The Tailor's Shop
Created for the Course Creative Coding
In Creative Coding, our final coding project was completely free reign, but the program had to include loops, variables, user input, logic structures (if/else), functions, an array, and objects.
In my free time, I'm an absolute nerd for fashion history and textiles, so I decided to create an educational video game about fashion history. The core concept of the game was a tailor's shop that users could explore to make garments throughout history. Users would select a method of sewing, a fabric, and learn about an object made with these materials.
However, this project didn't just test my coding knowledge. Creative direction was necessary to choosing typography, color scheme, and art style. In order to give the game a retro feel, I decided to utilize pixel art and the fonts Leckerli One and Thin Pixel-7.
In order to populate the game with information, I did extensive research on fashion history. It was important that the video game celebrated garments from a multitude of backgrounds and identities.
